Work in New Zealand

New Zealand is a great place to work. There are nearly 600.000 enterprises in New Zealand. Many of them are called Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This means you work in smaller companies with smaller teams.

New Zealand has clear and strict Employment Laws that cover the relationship with employers and employees, work hours, wages and salary including minimum wage, holidays, workplace health and safety and policies covering termination and redundancy. So there is a lot of paper work involved. You need patience during this application process as there are a number of criteria you need to meet.

a. Work Visa

You need a valid Work Visa to legally work in New Zealand. There are various categories of Work Visas. Some offer immediate residency while others offer easy pathways to residency after a minimum period. Only Accredited Employers who have been approved by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) can employ eligible migrants.

b. Job-Offer

You need a written job offer from an Accredited New Zealand Employer to gain your work visa and to work in New Zealand. We know who they are and can help you and will assist you to gain employment.

Migrants come to New Zealand to work in a stress-free work environment. The general requirement is to work for 8 hours per day with two short breaks (paid) and an unpaid lunch break. Office workers don’t generally work on Saturdays and Sundays. Since Covid, many work from home or have flexible work arrangements. Skilled workers are paid generous and competitive salaries in the private and public sectors.
